Stowers is Lombardi Award Semifinalist

Vandy tight end advances in consideration for third national honor

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt football’s Eli Stowers is one of 13 semifinalists for the 2025 Lombardi Award™ it was announced by the Lombardi Award™ Committee on Tuesday. Presented annually to the nation’s top college lineman or linebacker who embodies the discipline, character, and excellence of legendary coach Vince Lombardi, Stowers is the only tight end included in the group.

It’s the third national honor that he is in consideration for this fall, as Stowers has also been named a finalist for the 2025 William V. Campbell Trophy® and is a semifinalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award.

Through nine contests, Stowers paces the Dores with 39 receptions and 547 receiving yards and is second on the team with four touchdown catches. He ranks second nationally among tight ends in receiving yards after posting a career-best 146 yards and two scores in Vandy’s game last weekend at then-No. 20/19 Texas, his first 100-yard game of the season and fourth since joining the program prior to the start of the 2024 campaign. Stowers has led the Commodores in receptions on four occasions and receiving yards in four contests this season.

The Denton, Texas, resident is third among all active tight ends at the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision level with 1,547 yards in his career and ranks seventh in the group with an average of 12.7 yards per catch.

Stowers and No. 15/16 Vanderbilt are next in action on Saturday when Auburn comes to FirstBank Stadium for a 3 p.m. kickoff on SEC Network.
